You are a young Terran fresh out of The Academy a faction school for Terran pilots.

Armed with a standard issue frigate awarded to all of the Academy's graduates not to mention the considerable natural power of a Terran your possibilities are nearly limitless. Factions, Crime Syndicates, Bounty Hunter Gangs and the galaxy's top Corporations all recruit from academy graduates or perhaps you would prefer to forge your own empire through the application of combat, money, fear or leadership the choice is yours. Terran presents you with an open galaxy and offers many paths to success be it as a loyal pilot in the service of an established faction, an accomplished smuggler or the hunter who preys on them. Terran offers more than a variety in paths but also in gameplay with up close intense combat, tactical wing operations, strategic fleet engagements and even empire building and conquest for those who seek it.

Capital-class Ship Combat is one of the game's key features. As a Terran pilot you are literally part of your ship. You can view your ship from one of its orbital cameras, or manage events and factions from your OS, a desktop-like screen. The OS concept replaces the traditional start/main menu with various ‘programs’ or ‘apps’ that you can use to learn about the galaxy and embark on adventures.
With so many possibilities you might feel its all to much but don't worry Terran's event system keeps the action, story and exploration opportunities nicely sorted and at your finger tips. You wont be flying in empty space for hours on end or digging through countless cascading menus looking for a fight to pick or a bounty mark to bag after all you are a well trained and highly advanced Terran in command of an impressive ship and a master of powerful technologies. The event approach allows you to fill near every gameplay moment with the type of experience you choose be that tactical assaults solo or in a small wing or even full fleet actions not to mention criminal opportunities, bounties and exploration events.

While you are a pilot and always in direct command of *your* ship you may also make friends along the way forming a wing, flotilla or even a fleet which you command on the battle field and at home by assigning ships and ship fittings, assigning groupings and even command over smaller elements. You may find your self the CEO of a large company, leading a gang of hunters, head of a crime syndicate or commander of your own faction. You can take control of regions of space, build and upgrade structures as well as ships and weapons. New technologies can be earned through your deeds, stolen, salvaged off your enemies, researched or discovered through exploration. There is always more than 1 way to get what you want and how you go about it defines how the people of the galaxy view and treat you.

Terran is the first full-featured title from Heathen Engineering. A sci-fi themed game, the player takes on the role of a Terran, a cyborg-like evolution of human. Sandbox by nature, the game includes action, RPG, population management and even real-time strategy elements.

Terran is being built for Windows, Mac and Linux and will support a variety of VR headsets right out of the digital box. Having been under development for the past few years, the game is now looking for community support to find its way on Steam.

Project Fury

Terran also known as Project Fury from early concept works is the initial title from Heathen Engineering and is targeted for release on PC, Mac and Linux. The game is still in development and much of the wiki content is written directly by the developers to offer the community not only a source of up to date information on our progress and the evolution of the project but also the foundation of there own administered and operated wiki and community site that is to say that while we will lock a few pages during development we mean to open up and hand it over to the community on release of the game.
